I work as part of a local governing body, alongside teachers, members of the community, MAT and Diocese, this work includes: Setting targets for pupil achievement and monitoring the outcomes, managing the school's finances, making sure the curriculum is balanced and broadly based, appointing staff and reviewing staff performance and pay and working with the team to deliver the school plan.(See Volunteer information below)

Assisting in the development and implementation of an accessible programme of healthy walks as part of the Walking for Health initiative in Bexley.Promoting the benefits of physical activity, in particular, to those who would benefit most.Developing new and existing physical activity initiatives, specifically introducing a Shared Bike scheme for staff at Bexley PCT.

My communications role required me to form and maintain strong links with people at all levels, both internally and externally. Responsibilities included arranging public meetings in relation to consultation, assisting with short-term projects, coordinating communication during the fuel crisis and the media interest in MMR, taking all press enquiries and coordinating responses and press releases in a timely and efficient manner. In order to carry out these duties I had to liaise with people across the health economy, undertake research and evaluate possible solutions.

Over the years this role required me to participate in a number of public awareness campaigns and membership of a multi-agency communications groups consisting of members from the local health authority, hospital trust, community trust, mental health trust, local council and the voluntary sector.A large proportion of my time was spent supporting the Business Manager and Chief Executive; producing reports, writing letters and coordinating events as well as publishing large documents such as the annual public health report and the health authority annual report. I was responsible for the production of many information leaflets as well as working with designers and printers to produce campaign materials at best possible cost.
