About Heather Baard
Since qualifying in South Africa as an attorney and conveyancer and practising briefly in both commercial and property divisions, I embarked on a journey in corporate - starting in private banking - specialising in procurement and as in-house legal counsel for an infrastructure and vendor management business unit. Post completing a post grad in business management (at Wits Business School-2013) I shifted focus to asset and leasing management before leaving banking to start a career in Occupier Services - Corporate Real Estate. Since 2019 my focus has been on Asset Management. Key roles have included MD then CEO of an asset management company owned by 2 South African listed property funds (REITs), overseeing a Ghana portfolio of assets (comprising 3 shopping malls).Now based in Sydney Australia, NSW, I’m currently involved in the transitioning to management (leasing, property management, accounting administration & facilities management), a multi-use development (comprising Resi, Commercial, Retail, Hotel & Sports Stadium), with approx. 18,000m2 retail space launched Feb 2024 in Woolooware Bay.I’m a “multipotentialite” acknowledged for integrity, tenacity, ability to streamline efficiencies and mitigate risks whilst building trusting and beneficial relationships.
