Heather Bitar completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After two years of research and clinical work, Heather was accepted into Western University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. During her medical education she was elected Board Secretary of Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honors and Service Society and graduated in the top quartile of her class. She continued her medical training as an Internal Medicine Resident at Community Memorial Health System in Ventura, California. During residency, she discovered her passion for Palliative Medicine and completed her fellowship at Kaiser Permanent Southern California’s Hospice and Palliative Medicine program. She now is working as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Palliative Medicine under the Supportive Medicine Department at City of Hope Cancer Center.
