Worked with several different project teams over the course of the summer. One of the largest projects involved analyzing corroded steel framing of a former stamping plant with over 700 beams by measuring 2% of beams for section loss with an ultrasonic thickness gauge, researching applicable building code that applies to the repair of the structure, and performing analysis using RISA. The analysis resulted in demand-to-capacity ratio data used by the project manager as evidence of claims in a report to the client. Another projected analyzed structural capacity of damaged column in parking garage by applying principles of reinforced concrete and steel design to provide the project manager with information about the extent to which the column could withstand demolition and shoring required.Other duties performed included water infiltration testing, pre-pour site inspections, lintel design, quantity and cost estimating, façade assessments for required maintenance, and proposal and report writing.
