About Heather Colbert-Eckert

“Success isn't playing time, but improvement from day to day. You have to find a way to give everything you have and go 100% every day." Quoted in college paper on journey to capture the NCAA Division I Women’s Field Hockey Championship – My Personal PhilosophyMy personal philosophy hasn’t changed since 1994. I make it happen EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I expect a lot from myself and others, and always bring that to the table in any situation I am in. At the same time, because of my experience playing and leading teams in athletics, I am also a patient and motivating force with teams I work with. I enjoy and pride myself on helping individuals and organizations to grow and meet and exceed their goals. My former role tapped into all of my strengths. I am deliberate, analytical, responsible, committed to learning and coaching, and focused on achieving. I brought these strengths to the organization by:• Effective evaluation of processes and desired outcomes with staff• Ongoing observation of needs, workflow and impact• Organize, categorize, and analyze disparate and abundant information• Creating new and innovative processes and solutions• Identify potential risks and issues and developing mitigation plans• Communicating with diverse work groups and across hierarchical levels• Systematically researching, reviewing, and developing customer requirements• Approaching complex problems pragmatically and logically• Collaborating across and within teams to bring about an optimal solution• Quickly assessed situations and planned a methodical process for moving forward• Deliberately learned new methods, concepts, and tools to drive performance and outcomesNaturally I have aligned with operations and logistics in my non-profit, athletic, and volunteering work. I use my keen sense for understanding and building effective processes to drive optimal performance, to save time, and to create attainable goals. I am focused on detailed coordination and flow of complex events involving people, facilities, and materials. I enjoy solving problems and have taken on many types including:• Planning and executing major events with over 300 attendees• Creating athletic programming and events for various sports including field hockey and basketball, and non-athletic groups• Organizing Junior Olympic events as Committee Chair• Encouraging collaboration with parents, administration, and vendors for annual fundraiser events• Managing equipment, supplies and staffing needs for summer camps, USL teams, staff parties and corporate events
