In my early career, I was fascinated by numbers and logic. As I furthered my education and became a qualified actuary in the U.K. (FIA), Canada (FCIA) and the U.S. (FSA), I discovered a related passion - using my knowledge and experience to empower people, build relationships and solve problems. Today, as Senior Managing Director and Head of Canadian Business Development for SLC Management Canada (SLC), I am part of a team of talented investment and pension professionals. We help Canadian institutional investors better balance their risks and return so they can focus on their core business. Shareholders want to know how companies are managing risks that can impact their business, such as inflation, market volatility and interest rates. De-risking is an important tool for effectively managing these risks and I have more than a decade of expertise in this area.Prior to joining SLC Management in 2018, I was the Managing Director, LDI Strategy, DB Solutions at Sun Life Financial. I also held the role of Managing Director, Client Relationships, DB Solutions. I was attracted to SLC Management, Sun Life’s asset management company, because I love to help businesses grow and thrive. I am excited to be part of a business that feels like a start-up but has the support of an iconic Canadian company that was established more than 150 years ago. Supporting the people around me - my clients, prospects and colleagues - is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. I am a fierce advocate for under-represented groups, and I’m proud to have been the first chair of SLC’s “Allies Acting for Change” DE&I committee. I try every day to be an ally and advocate for positive change in the workplace. People know me as a leader and a helper - I’m also a mom, a wife, a friend and an avid reader. I’m a closet Disney lover, having been to Disney World over 25 times and look forward to more visits in the future!
