• Liaising with the Acting Deputy Superintendent in CT regarding the day to day running of the service.• Maintaining professional standards in appearance, manner, punctuality and competence• Working to and maintaining excellent clinical standards• Communicating effectively with the other Team Leaders, Principal Superintendents and members of the Specials team to maintain a high quality service• Ensuring the unit delivered the highest possible quality of patient care• Directing workflow in designated areas of responsibility• Developing work patterns to ensure efficient and effective utilisation of the CT service on both sites• Supervising the training of radiographers and other health care staff, ensuring that the induction programme is followed• Ensuring the observation of codes of practice, Ionising Radiation Protection legislation, Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH Regulations, Trust Policies and department protocols• Liaising with Consultant Clinicians, Consultant Radiologists and other hospital staff of all grades• Reporting equipment faults, liaising with service engineers to arrange repairs and routine services in accordance with the maintenance contracts• Ensuring QA tests carried out to ensure image quality and compliance to legislation• Involvement in the out of hours/on call service for CT imaging• Managing staffing by producing on-call and weekly staffing rotas, authorising annual leave etc.• Ordering consumables and other items • Checking claim forms for accuracy• Key Trainer for the GE ADW Workstations• CRIS Trainer• Responsibility for ensuring that all CT patients scanned in an efficient and timely manner to ensure that the 18 week targets maintained within the Trust and all Fast Track patients scanned within two weeks time to ensure speedy diagnosis and treatment.• Radiation Protection Supervisor for CT• Developing the CT service to enable Trust Corporate Policy to be achieved• Ensure safe working practices at all times
