I have followed my passion of teaching the next generation by becoming a teacher at my church's school. I kicked off the planning and preparations for the school and now teach all the core classes for both Middle and High School. Due to the extensive need to meet struggling learners where they are at and challenge proficient learners, I went through the mentorship program at the Modern Classroom Project (MCP). It has been a huge help and success in my math class. Prior to HOP, I worked as a second line manager for the MDHHS Data Warehouse and Web Support section at the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. I served believing that to better improve customer service within my organization I needed to focus on removing impediments, providing opportunity, and developing a culture of engagement and growth for my direct staff and their employees. This provided them with both, the skills and ability, to focus directly on serving our customer.I have excellent organization and planning skills. These have been very beneficial in my current and previous positions as I have organized/conducted schoolwide and division meetings, developed training programs for technical staff, and instituted a quarterly innovation day to name a few examples. As a leader, I work to engage, empower, equip, and train others to reach their career aspirations and beyond. I strive to improve decision making, policies, processes, and procedures at every level of my organization.
