I was the sole Supervisor of Racing Operations in my… Show more Multi-tasking Responsibilities in a fast-paced environment that was expected to run smoothly with extensive knowledge required by the state to know the rules and guidelines of the Handbook of the Texas Racing Commission, Horse Track Operations, The Drawing Sequence which was done by Data entry, the Procedures of Entering racehorses for a Raceday, Paddock Judge Operations and Schooling horses in a timely manner, and legal Horse racing. I was the sole Supervisor of Racing Operations in my Jurisdiction. My STATE OFFICIAL POSTION was PADDOCK JUDGE of HOUSTON, I was responsible for legal Operations, humane treatment of the animals and promoting a smooth operation overseeing the valets that prepped each horse for the race and made sure the Jockeys were ready to go. Timely schedule was a must. PR and Customer Service was constant and reporting to me on schedule, operations safe, and horses "running" in proper equipment declared at time of entry of race day or I had power to scratch them from the race schedule. Putting on a good show for the public so they were happy and felt like they had a great time was a must. Lots of interviews on TV. I had power to fine if violations were brought in my jurisdiction. It was my job to prevent illegal horse racing and all things were reported to me. I ensured a smooth operation and oversaw the Race Operations Daytime Hours included Data entry, Hussle of filling races, interaction with agents, customers, Administration work, and customer PR to fill races if needed. Working well with others was a must because we were together all the time. I was a part of proofreading the final program to be submitted to the public and was instrumental in bringing new clients to the races. As a note, I actually worked over a course of 20 years for this company consistently from Independent contractor, to State / Company Race Official and was the Youngest Racing Official and First Female Paddock Judge in the Country at the time.
