Ensures that the quality of parts produced meets all customer expectations, and quickly and effectively takes action when non-conformance is found. Collaborates with customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design. This position is responsible for carrying out established directives, procedures, systems, and processes. Additionally, the Quality Systems Specialist (QSS) is responsible for direct support supervision. This position will serve a primary role in Quality Compliance activities. The QSS will also serve as a primary product compliance resource, will serve as the central point of contact for coordination and procedural creation, and act as the Lead Internal Auditor for schedule creation and tracking, training, and management and direction for internal auditors. The QSS will support design engineering efforts as required, author technical reports, perform risk analysis and design reviews, and submit various device license applications and/or medical device reports as necessary.

Develops, implements and maintains quality programs including but not limited to SQF, ISO and other industry-relevant certifications, Continuous Improvement initiatives and UL certification. Develops implements and maintains a Color Management System (CMS) that ensures consistent color match and reproduction.Analyzes, evaluates and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of the management team.Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures for solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.Works in collaboration with other top management personnel to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures and goals as they relate to the Quality System.Evaluates contents of reports from Quality Assurance team members and confers with senior managers for purposes of identifying product performance issues and formulating solutions.Works with Operations, Purchasing and other department leaders to establish, delineate and review Quality Assurance policies and procedures, to coordinate functions and operations between departments and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.Reviews and analyzes technical problems, product performance issues and quality policies/practices to formulate and recommend solutions to problems or changes to procedures. Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply qualities, the capacity of the vendor to meet orders and review vendor quality standards.Confers with senior managers from Operations, Purchasing and Technology and Product Development regarding quality assurance of new product designs and manufactured products on market to identify and rectify problems.

Maintain internal quality systems to meet current Precious Plate, ISO-9001, TS-16949, and ISO 14001 requirements.Statistical analysis of data for use in customer or internal requirements (ex PPAP or Cost Reduction Activities).Review of customer prints and specifications, as applicable, to ensure processing of material is adequate to meet those requirements.Assist in the review and maintenance of internal quality documentation including Blue & Tan Cards, Work Instructions etc. through the use of AutoCAD and other software programs.Lead Corrective Action Teams to investigate and identify root cause of problems and help define action items to prevent recurrence.Oversee Continuous Improvement projects by leading a Yield Improvement Team.Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership within organization.Creation and maintenance of FMEAs. Flow Charts, and Control Plans.
