Responsibilities⦁ Decipher and apply state and national legislation relevant to fauna and environmental activities being conducted in the mining sector; with particular focus on the EPBC Act 1999, Nature Conservation Act 1992 and the Water Act 2007⦁ Prepare and revise Environmental Management Plans⦁ Conduct training to promote environmental education and awareness of responsibilities for all staff members ⦁ Provide practical solutions to infield construction while adhering to strict fauna and environment requirements⦁ Monitor and assess environmental performance using KPI’s and collated data⦁ Identification and evaluation of potential environmental risks, and working to provide effective minimisation strategies⦁ Analysis and interpretation of technical environmental documents, including EIS and EIA⦁ Design, implement and monitor land rehabilitation procedures⦁ Design, implement and monitor erosion and sediment control plans⦁ Undertake fauna capture, handling, identification, care and release activities⦁ Work under a Rehabilitation Permit and complete all DERM reporting requirements⦁ Conduct detailed flora surveys, with consideration of environmentally sensitive areas⦁ Coordinate and oversee the startup of a new project, including managing and training a team of fauna/environment advisors Show less
