I am currently employed at NIHR Coordinating Centre in Leeds, as a Portfolio Research Officer.Prior to joining the NIHR, I worked for five years at Kidney Research UK, as a Grants Administrator.Before that; I worked as a researcher for twelve years (mainly for small drug discovery companies). I am a highly organised and conscientious employee, with excellent communication skills, and work well both independently, and as part of a team.Open to new opportunities in the Leeds area, ideally an administrative role, in the Scientific, Academic, or Medical sectors.Key skills and experience• Educated to degree level, with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology.• Computer literate; experienced with Microsoft software (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel). Also familiar with other software, including several inventory, ordering, and two very different grants management systems.• Dedication to accuracy and possessing an excellent eye for detail• Practised in record keeping, data handling and information management.• Experienced in workplace maintenance, organisation, safety, and ordering.• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.• Capable of working efficiently and conscientiously, both independently or as part of a team.• Able to liaise with staff members at all levels, to ensure the smooth running of workplace, and efficient delivery of results.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Experience of training and supporting colleagues in using our databases.• I have been involved with project development (a new online grants management system) and events organisation (Research impact visits, Researcher Development days, and Fellows Day).• Keen, hard working and enthusiastic.
