CurrentI started Mothers for Nuclear with my coworker and good friend Kristin Zaitz on Earth Day in 2016. When we learned that our company planned to NOT renew the license for Diablo Canyon, we started researching the basis for that decision. As a result, we discovered that not only is this the wrong decision for humanitarian and environmental reasons, but nuclear plants across the country and the world may be under similar threat. Anti-nuclear propaganda and unfair economic policies are both working against nuclear, which happens to be one of the most vital tools we have to combat climate change, protect humanity from air pollution, and raise our quality of life by providing clean and reliable power to more people. Our mission is to develop a global community of support for clean energy. Our goal is 100% clean energy, and we are advocating for replacement of fossil fuels with every other clean energy technology. We do not have time to wait around or play favorites with technologies. We must stop emissions now.
