Responsible for the administrative oversight of all research activities at Franciscan St. Francis Health, including strategic planning, business development, financial management, regulatory and billing compliance and human resources.

Provide overall direction for the initiation, monitoring, completion and reporting of surgery clinical trials, including supervision of the research staff and performing personnel functions, budgetary and fiscal management, quality assurance, CTMS maintenance, and developing and enforcing research department policies and procedures.

Initiate, conduct, complete, and report trauma surgery clinical trials, including soliciting industry-sponsored trials through contacts and professional organizations, preparing and negotiating study budgets, reconciling study budget accounts, preparing and submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents, and training ancillary staff regarding clinical trials. Recruit, screen and enroll research subjects; abstract and report clinical research data in eDC systems; and ensure adverse events are reviewed and reported in accordance with the protocol and IRB policies.
