As a designer and coordinator for Miller Office Interiors, I space plan and specify furniture on a variety of projects, including healthcare, corporate, education, and sometimes hospitality. I work closely with the account manager and the client to find the perfect solution for them and often provide finish suggestions as well. Once a design is finalized, I compile the formal quote and prep it for order; once ordered, I oversee the delivery and installation scheduling of that project.My previous experience includes ten months as an architectural/design intern at Strand Systems Engineering (now Strand A&E). There, I started designing residential plans for their home builder client and ended up in their newly formed commercial department due to my prior experience. I collaborated with other designers on two commercial projects, drafting architectural details in Revit and briefly serving as construction administrator. Prior to my time at Strand, I was a Design Studio Specialist at Pottery Barn in Dallas, Texas, where I worked with clients to create design solutions for their homes and close large sales for my store. I also gained six months' experience working in corporate design as an intern for ArchIteriors in Dallas during my last year of college. I worked closely with the designers and architects there and provided major production assistance on ongoing projects, including creating construction document packages. Eventually, I want to own my own partially non-profit studio. I would use the money from my paying clients to design homes or businesses for those who truly deserve them.
