Experienced clinician with a diverse skillset. Passionate about improving healthcare through direct and indirect clinical practise. I have worked as a consultant anaesthetist in both the private and public health settings in Australia and in both clinical and management roles within a tertiary hospital. I have learnt when to lead and when to follow, how to get the best out of the team of people around me, and to get comfortable making decisions in uncertainty. At the TGA, I use my clinical acumen to review incidents and evidence with the goal of minimising residual risk of harm to patients. I am recognised for my pragmatic approach to problem solving and my enthusiasm for continual improvement, both personal and institutional. I have a commitment to life-long learning and have recently completed a Masters in Health Economics. This year I have been fortunate to have been selected for the WILD for STEM leadership program and am completing my AICD qualification. I’m also an enthusiastic teacher, at undergraduate and post-graduate level in Anaesthesia in Victoria, as well as regular trips to the Pacific, teaching Obstetric Anaesthesia in LMIC. I am inspired by my patients, my colleagues and by progress.
