Growing up in Edinburgh my life has always been heavily involved in sport. From a young age I was able to develop and enhance my competitive nature through consistent training and competition. Having this drive pushed me to continue to succeed and resulted in me competing at national and international level. Whilst competing I also balanced my time with coaching and developing other players in order to reach their goals.As I developed my passion for coaching I applied to study Sports Coaching and Development at Edinburgh College. From there, I naturally progressed to study Sport and Exercise Science at Edinburgh Napier University, where I graduated in 2018.After university I was unsure of what direction I wanted to head in, so I made the decision to go travelling. I spent a year working and travelling New Zealand and gained experience in the hospitality industry, along with constantly meeting new people from lots of different countries.Upon arriving home, I knew I did not want to continue working in the hospitality industry, as I wanted a fresh and exciting challenge in a more professional environment. Which is what led me to the opportunity with NXT Wave and Group.Learning about the industry allowed me to see the progression that could take place through hard work and dedication, whilst also providing me with all the teaching and training in order to develop the necessary skills. The fact that no previous experience was required and you could progress at your own rate was also a big motivator as I am a naturally competitive and ambitious individual.Currently my goal in the programme is to learn and develop a new set of skills in a different environment. However, through being with the company, it has taught me to think and aim bigger. Therefore, my long term goal will be to open my own office and teach and train other individuals to reach their goals.
