Currently I am a Brand Manager and Sr. Designer at Rubies Costume Company. At Rubies I work on a large variety of brands and licenses which span all of our sizes, departments and price ranges. I provide and oversee the development of costume and prop concepts, specs and production art sent to a multitude of different licensors working with our San Diego office. Before Rubies I was as a Designer/Manager for Jakks Pacific. At Jakks, I worked on the brands Disney Princess, Princess and Me, Maleficent and Frozen. My experience at Jakks was very inclusive as I was involved in every stage of a products development from concept to completion. I specialized in designing and managing costumes for girls dress up, wigs/hair play, and in toys like large dolls and hard goods; tiaras, wands, shoes, etc. My day to day included developing and maintaining line plans, cost analysis and management, oversees communications to insure product quality, line presentations, pitches and daily communication with licensors. Previous to my work at Jakks Pacific I worked as a Designer/Project Manager for Xcessory International in New York. Though similar to Jakks, the experience I received at Xcessory International was more focused in apparel manufacturing. Apart from my experience in licensing and consumer goods, I have had many years of experience in design and related fields such as wardrobe, fashion show production, costume production for film and theater, business ownership and management. I pride myself on my dedication to work, time management and self-starting attitude.I have been described as hard working, great at time management, deadline oriented, organized and always eager to learn and grow. My first love is fashion/costume/toy design however I also enjoy reading, astronomy, activism, bicycling, hiking, yoga, video games and comic books. My future plans are to continue work in management and design, to travel the world, and once I get enough money to travel into space.
