Heather McDaniel McDevitt is a cultural resources leader and project manager with over 18 years’ experience including management of public and private contracts spanning a wide range of market sectors. Ms. McDevitt’s ability to secure and retain clients is due to an understanding of industry needs and bringing clients customized service with a responsive, solution-based approach strengthened by a strong working expertise in regulatory compliance. Ms. McDevitt’s technical expertise encompasses faunal analysis, human osteology, geographic information system, ground penetrating radar and her professional experience provides significant knowledge and practical experience with federal regulations, such as NEPA, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; various state regulations with significant expertise in CEQA; and permit application. Ms. McDevitt has worked on projects for and in cooperation with the National Park Service, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Smithsonian Institute, California State Parks, California Department of Transportation and several US military bases.Ms. McDevitt believes that creating a workplace where professionals at all levels and backgrounds can grow and thrive in a collaborative, challenging and inspirational environment is the responsibility of every leader. She passionately enjoys and considers it a great honor to mentor colleagues through the development of practical tools and a commitment to genuine, compassionate, and innovative leadership. Ms. McDevitt’s has also served as an adjunct professor at community and state institutions for courses in physical and cultural anthropology, archaeology, and GIS and enjoys continuing to share her passion for the discipline of archaeology as a cohost on the CRM Archaeology Podcast aired on the Archaeology Podcast Network.

Serve as Commissioner and Chairwoman of the Historic Preservation Commission and advisory commission to the City Council on all matters relevant to adherence to the City’s Historic Preservation Ordinance.
