Optimistic Counseling PLLC assists individuals, families, and couples achieve more effective and fulfilling lives amid social, interpersonal, and professional challenges. Goals of counseling are cooperatively established between client and counselor. The hope is that clients experience a decrease in distressing issues while overall wellness increases. Clients are valued, respected, encouraged, and honored in their emotional, spiritual, and interpersonal health journey. For over thirty years, I have created strengths-focused environments for young people and their families. My life’s work is diverse and extensive, including early childhood education, youth mentoring, family mediation, overseas medical outreach, couples counseling, stress management, parent/teacher education, and prevention/intervention/education related to substance use and abuse.

Established in 2022, the Clinician Wellbeing Network is a new support program for behavioral health clinicians. Established specifically to address the health and wellbeing of clinicians in order to ensure quality care for individuals with substance use disorders. The program seeks to enhance clinician compassion satisfaction; build confidence, connection, and community among providers; create resilience; and ultimately support workforce retention. The CWN offers scholarships, peer collaboration, wellness activities, consultation, training, and other incentives for addiction counselors, mental health, and behavioral health providers involved in addressing substance use and co-occurring disorders.
