The bulk of my career has focused on public service, and I currently serve as the Director of Pierce County Human Services. As a resident of Tacoma since 1994, I enjoy the opportunity to finally work nearby and serve my neighbors by taking on the opportunities and challenges here in Pierce County. Our work at PCHS centers around funding or providing our most vulnerable populations services they need: rental assistance, home-based care and case management, school-to-work coaching for those with disabilities, gas cards for low-income Veterans, high quality free preschool, subsidized housing, substance abuse treatment, and so much more. I’m grateful to work with an amazing group of people with a passion to serve their community.Prior to my county job, the bulk of my career was with the State of Washington in Olympia. There, I worked for the state legislature, budget office, and two agencies, ultimately serving as the Deputy Secretary for the newly-formed Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). It was an incredible opportunity to be part of creating a new agency, and the work of DCYF is so very important to every family in our state.
