Managed inception and development of this start-up practice including business plan, securing office space, insurance, funding options, office equipment and services, negotiations with vendors, and permits, and also development of operations and accounting infrastructure. We registered the company with the state of Texas in March 2012, and the doors opened June 1, 2012. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, nutrition and lifestyle consultation, research, business writing and document preparation, personnel management, scheduler, bookkeeper, speaking engagements and seminars, vendor contact, ordering and managing supplies and office equipment, liaison with property management, business development, payroll, Quickbooks, payroll taxes and other taxes, file system set-up and management and other various duties that surface in small business operations. When I was chosen to set up and run the operations and infrastructure at the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, there were only two other staff members; our President and one VP, a limited amount of office supplies and a complete lack of electronic history and organization. After hiring a full-time Controller to take over the A/P and Grant Management, I was given the responsibility of Project Manager of The Giving Library, a $4.2 Million project that is a searchable, on-line video library of nonprofit organizations from across the country – in addition to my role as Office Manager.

Reported to Two Senior VP’s, Two Directors, and Two Major Fundraising Campaigns. I managed databases of over 1000 individual and corporate supporters including financial tracking and analysis, sales and payment processing, donor cultivation, event logistics, correspondence campaigns, and website management.
