Over a period of 13 years achieved the highest level of certification in Alpine Ski Instruction. For many years taught mainly Private Request Lessons and built a strong association and relationship with my guests and clients.

Being a keen horse rider as a child, participating in local pony club and shows, I became tired of how subjective the judging could be. If you didn't have the right colored horse, or the right brand of saddle you wouldn't get a look in regardless of how well presented your horse was. I decided that I wanted to be involved in an industry where the first to the post was the winner, and decided to become a jockey. In 1974 there were no licensed lady jockeys riding in Australia, however there were in Canada, England, France and Brazil. I spent 10 yrs in the saddle riding first in Picnic Races, and Ladies Races where there was always a featured "Ladies Race " on the program. I was invited overseas to represent Australia in an International Series of Races in Brazil and New Zealand before being granted one of the first jockeys licenses to ride against men in Australia in 1981. Unfortunately a race fall at Rosehill had me sidelined for the better part of a year, and during that time I reflected on just how hard the industry of horse racing was for a woman in a mans world. I discovered skiing in 1982 and knew that my career path would change, as I had a new found passion.
