Heather Robinson is an executive producer of creative projects, with a PhD in cultural policy and evaluation. Her project management, communications, sponsorship and audience development skills were honed across the Australian cultural sector. Heather is currently in development with 2 natural history/science documentary series with support of SAFC and Screen Australia. She has in press a book based on her PhD, Common Ground: Culture, Value and the State Library of South Australia. She made the shortlist for the 2023 Deep Creek Writers Fellowship, for her creative biography of silent Hollywood movie star, Claire Adams. Heather is Research Associate (Hon.) with the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, and Research Associate at Flinders University.Heather served on the Board of the Adelaide Festival of Ideas Association Inc. As Executive Producer, she delivered the 2013 and 2016 Adelaide Festival of Ideas. Heather was credited with ensuring the festival’s survival through her strategic planning, project management, creative insight, team building and relationships development.Heather completed her PhD in Cultural Policy from Flinders University in 2019, exploring the value and meaning of cultural institutions, focussing on the State Library of South Australia. She presents the State Library and North Terrace cultural experience as a link to the past, a gateway to Adelaide for new arrivals and a portal to South Australia's future potential. Her research into the creative industries demonstrates how the application of qualitative narrative approaches to cultural evaluation and reporting provides balance to the measurement imperative and sustains life-long community relationships. Background:Heather’s career began in heritage collections and events management with the National Trust of Australia (VIC), membership and events with the National Gallery Society of Victoria and later as Program Coordinator for the Australian Centre for Youth Literature at the State Library of Victoria.Following her role managing the Anne Frank Australian Exhibition across Australia in 2000-2001, she established herself in Perth, working for the Holmes a Court Gallery, the WA Museum and the 2003 Perth International Arts Festival. She worked for Museum Victoria and the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, contributing her cultural institutional experience to the development of Knowledge Bank: Next Generation, a multi-million dollar content delivery system for the government’s digital education revolution strategy.
