As the Director of Business Development, I draw from almost two decades of experience leveraging political data to help labor, advocacy, and electoral organizations enact progressive change. I manage the work of our Business Development team as we collaborate with clients and partners to maximize their strategic use of Catalist data.

Developed a data program maximizing use of the voter file, targeting, and other data resources for PICO’s member organizing and 501(c)(3) civic engagement work on social justice issues.Managed the data needs, from ballot signature collection through voter turnout, of advocacy programs with 300,000+ voter conversations, successfully passing four state ballot measures addressing school funding, healthcare funding, and criminal justice reform.Collaborated with academic researchers on a multi-year voter contact research experiment designed to measure the effects of repeated voter contact on infrequent voters.Administered and analyzed membership data across 15 affiliates using the MyCampaign module in VAN and Excel.Coproduced public facing reports and internal presentations on advocacy work, providing background on existing demographic trends and past work and making recommendations for future targeting.

Analyzed member records for Working America’s 3 million member program engaging non-union members around issues that affect working people, tracking issue interest areas, donations, and contact history.Managed voter contact data in VAN in over 300 races, from federal to state legislature to school board, across 15 states.Trained VAN and Google Apps users with varying skill levels via webinars and classroom trainings.Administered VAN and provided support for Working America’s 250+ VAN accounts.Measured and analyzed field canvasser performance utilized commercial and in-house systems.Negotiated with data vendors- reduced data keying error rates from 10% to 5% over 6 months.
