Contractors consist of steel erection, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, carpenters, brick layers, plumbing, tile, concrete, pipe insulation, flooring, painters, glazers and fire proofing. I review all contractor Safety and Health Manuals, asses their policies and procedures to ensure project and industry compliance as well as best practices have been identified. Review work packages with contractors to ensure all environmental, safety and health issues have been addressed. Pre-plan work operations by assisting in preparation of Job Hazard Analysis. Review crane lift plans. Assess confined spaces and prepare permits. Conduct site inspections and perform routine audits, provide feedback with improvement areas. Investigate incidents and accidents, implement measures to reduce and illuminate reoccurrences. Coordinate daily activities between contractors to encourage pre- planning safety into their work processes. Participate in contractors daily Job Safety Analysis. Use leading and lagging indicators as well as industry resources to develop safety and health training. Active member of the OCE Craft Safety committee. Responsible for working as the client (Eskom). Primary responsibilities include on-boarding and supervising several international corporations at the new Kusile coal fired power plant in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The plant will consist of six 800 megawatt units, producing a total of 4800 megawatts. Kusile is projected to produce 20 percent of the country's power. Once completed, it will be the fourth largest power plant in the world.By using the Gap Analysis, companies such as Hitachi, Murray, and Roberts, Siemens Energy, and Alstom will be reviewed per the SHE policy and plan for the execution of the works. Ensure overall compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental standards.
