I am a chemistry undergrad who is about to graduate! I am looking into Master's programs especially in the field of textile chemistry! I have been in love with dye and color since a young age, and when I took my first chemistry class in high school I got to do science fair and I ended up researching about dyes. I wrote a paper and participated in my region and state science fair and had a blast! I decided then that I loved both chemistry and color and haven't looked back since! Right now I am working in a research lab doing Raman Spectroscopy and I love it! The chemistry of light and the ways chemicals react to it is super fascinating to me. I hope to one day work in the textile field as doing spectroscopy, be that as a researcher for new dyes or an analysist of historical dyes and pigments! When I am not thinking about chemistry and color I love to read and write! My minor is in creative writing with an emphasis in poetry and children's literature. I hope to use my knowledge of science and chemistry to bring new ideas to my poetry and possibly inspire others to explore the universe around them. I love seeing the ways that math and science can be used in art and literature. I also am proficient in most textile handcrafts including sewing, tie-dye, screen printing, and embroidery. I try to stay active and enrich my life with a variety of experiences and passions!
