About Heather Sherr

I am currently studying epidemiology and biostatistics through the MPH program at Boston University School of Public Health. My current research examines trends in late-stage cancer screening among rural and impoverished counties. My background in biological anthropology, molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, and analytical and creative writing will profoundly shape my work. Health communication is a strong priority in my current work. In my position as a writing fellow with the Public Health Post, I pitch, draft, and edit articles that translate health findings for a wide audience. I am proud to help keep the public informed about issues that may impact the health of themselves, their families, and their communities. While in the Honors college of Literature, Science, and Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan, I completed a major in Evolutionary Anthropology and a minor in Writing through the Sweetland Writing Center. I am also passionate about music, education, and community service.
