My responsibilities include: • Lead global career and technical education (CTE) program; develop multi-year plans to integrate global content as a critical lever of CTE/workforce readiness including partnership development, content creation for educators, evaluation of new products, and development of funding. • Lead the Global Cities Education Network, including liaising with international participants and organizing international conferences held in Asia and North America. Oversee the CTE working group of Global Cities Education Network, supporting project plans and partnerships.• Develop national and international partnerships, including connections between CTE, education, and afterschool for funding, training, and policy frameworks to benefit educators. • Present and offer trainings on global competence and international benchmarking in education at local, state, and national conferences.• Manage state/federal policy projects to advance global education in US schools. Provide technical assistance to states interested in beginning or already involved in global education initiatives.• Create content and serve as expert host, writer, and editor for “Global Learning” blog on Education Week. Curate content from national and international writers and partners.• Manager of Mapping the Nation project including data collection, site content, and partner management.• Author, research, and edit journal articles, reports, speeches, press releases, and web pieces.• Cultivate new funding prospects, maintain relationships with foundations and manage grant reporting.• Started and currently lead weekly #Globaledchat on Twitter which engages teachers from around the world in professional development.
