I work with a variety of clients throughout the Pacific Northwest who have diverse needs requiring careful consideration of municipal requirements, aesthetics, safety and cost. I work collaboratively with other design professionals to create places people want to live within apartment communities. Oftentimes this means including passive and active recreational spaces within our designs such as dog parks, playgrounds and picnic areas. I love plant design and know that the use of appropriate plant palettes can mean water conservation, four season interest, and wildlife habitat while providing enjoyment to apartment residents. I take all of these things into consideration when designing apartment landscape plans.Additionally I have been involved in designing landscape plans for commercial properties. We recognize the importance of professional landscape design for businesses marketing their services to the community. A good landscape plan offers the business a chance to set themselves apart from their competitors. I worked closely with Susan Moss, PLA and the City of Post Falls on Tullamore Park. The City wanted an amphitheater, playground, picnic shelters, sports courts and splash pad and our final landscape plans included these amenities while also taking into consideration shade for visitors, visibility concerns and plant suitability.I provide support for planners in our office in the application phases of development. I assist with drafting as well as reading through and revising various documents and drawings. I utilize Global Mapper to create lidar maps which are easily imported into AutoCAD as surface contours. This enables our planners and civil engineers the ability to quickly analyze large sites and provide our clients with relevant information for their projects.

Implemented and maintained the Employee Bicycle Sharing Program, assisted in creatinga community-wide bicycle rack grant and provided bicycle safety education to Cityemployees. Collaborated with various groups including Safe Routes to School, Bike 4 Life, the City ofMoscow’s Sustainable Environment Commission, University of Idaho’s SustainabilityCenter, ICLEI, Community Action Partnership, the Idaho Department of Transportationand Moscow School District in the effort to assist the City of Moscow to meet its’greenhouse emissions goals. Compiled Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Analysis for the City of Moscow, presenting theinventory and analysis at the University of Idaho’s 2009 Environmental Science: NationalTeach-in on Global Warming Solutions and to City of Moscow elected officials, utilizingMicrosoft Office products and ICLEI software to concisely present my findings.  Educated employees regarding energy use reduction, recycling, and other sustainability issues through various activities such as the City of Moscow’s Waste Free EmployeePicnic and obtaining recycling bins for all City departments. Acted as a liaison between City of Moscow Departments, Committees, and the Mayor.
