I have two professional loves in my life: sharing stories and helping others to share their stories.I'm passionate about breaking barriers, preventing youth suicide, and empowering young people to embrace their authentic selves.My other love is writing.My writing career began when I was invited to write lines and sketches for comedians on the Aberdeen, Glasgow & Edinburgh live comedy circuit, after being voted by Huffpost UK as one of Fifty Funny Women to Follow on Twitter back in 2012. I then embarked on a novel writing career and my debut British comedy ebook, THE NEW MRS D, written under the pen name of Heather Hill, was an Amazon No1 bestseller before the paperback was published by Fledgling Press in 2015. I have produced four novels in all.I've also written for publications including Psychologies Magazine, The Scotsman newspaper and was listed as one of Scotland's 200 most remarkable voices in The Scotsman in 2017. In 2019 I was grateful to be awarded a scholarship from BBC Scotland to undertake the Master's Degree in TV Drama Writing at Glasgow Caledonian University, which I completed at aged 50 in 2020. My message to everyone - especially the next generation - is this: You can be anything you want to be. So, be bold, be different, be who you were born to be.
