Hello! My name is Heather and I am a data engineer that loves working in Snowflake and dbt!Let me share just a little bit about my journey so far...After 20 years of bookkeeping, I originally returned to college to get my degree in accounting, but I graduated with a degree in Management of Information Systems and Business Analytics. During my studies, I found that I loved solving data questions with SQL. As I completed my last course, I enrolled in a full-stack web development bootcamp to try something more technical. Yep, you guessed it. I found that I loved to code and learn new languages!I would love to tell you more about my favorite project with Slalom Build where I improved a client's QE process for deploying Airflow pipelines then led other devs through the staging process during zero-day vulnerability deployments! Or maybe you might want to hear more about how I built an in-house app using PowerAutomate, Excel, and OfficeScripts. Or better yet, I could share about my time at Tackle and how I migrated dbt models from Redshift to Snowflake, converted existing SQL queries to dbt, and even began optimizing the query structures for better performance!Over the past few years, I proved to be adaptable and agile as I pivoted with changing project priorities and quickly learned new software. My willingness to document processes, comment code, and create readmes increases collaboration and knowledge transfer with my teams. My easygoing nature helps me to roll with the punches as I work with my team to tackle unexpected challenges. My grit and determination to solve puzzles and reach my goals (whether in coding, education, or life) keeps me motivated to continuously learn and grow as a data engineer. Oh, and my team tells me that I am always smiling!Life changes are never easy and take many unexpected turns along the way, but the biggest lesson that I have learned from my journey is to have the confidence to pursue goals that seem impossible and have the courage to try something different. When I began my journey, I had no idea at the time that it would lead me into data engineering! I am so glad that I did! I love working as a data engineer!!SKILLS:SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Python, AWS, GCP, Azure, CircleCi, Fivetran, Airflow, Rio, DataDog
