Responsible for coordinating activities in support of development and flight test for the nacelles on the Mitsubishi Regional Jet, including instrumentation, engineering changes, digital mock-ups, and hardware delivery. Organizes presentation packages to share current state of the program to senior leadership.

Program Manager for the CF6-80E1 nacelles. Responsible for operational performance including delivery, quality, safety, financial performance and aftermarket support. Managed contract negotiations with customer and drove action plans to meet delivery targets in-line with customer and business objectives. Evaluated forecasting and planning both internally and within the Supply Chain to ensure delivery and inventory targets were met.

Supported senior leadership with data collection and developing presentation packages for visitors, including customers and executive leadership. Drove cost-reduction initiatives across the Aerostructures business, yielding significant annual savings. Other activities included development of 5 year Strategic Plan and assisting the VP of Business Development with proposals.

Responsible for supporting cost reduction efforts by working with the various new program teams to understand critical risks to production, including manufacturability, engineering changes, and supplier selection. Worked with internal facilities to understand productivity efforts and current issues, with a focus on closing the cost gap. Supported production readiness assessments for the new programs both internally and externally.

Provided support to the Supply Chain Management group on new product introduction cost mitigation and strategic sourcing by conducting trade studies on high cost components to propose and evaluate design alternatives. Supported buyers with gathering and sorting of technical data required to transfer work in addition to assisting suppliers with technical support. Utilized background in composites manufacturing to provide assistance with design and fabrication questions, estimation of manufacturing hours to validate financial assumptions, and helped forecast potential production issues at start up facilities. Visited potential suppliers to provide technical support and high-level determination of production rate readiness.

Retained most tasks from Manufacturing Team Leader role including all Continuous Improvement activity, capacity analysis, and support provided to area leadership. Additional tasks included the development of the New Programs Continuous Improvement Team, designed to focus on implementing Lean across the 787, A350, and shared equipment areas. CI Team developed standard work and percent loading for New Programs and shared equipment areas. In addition to conducting and facilitating numerous Kaizen events and supporting manufacturing, assistance as Manufacturing Engineer was provided as necessary. Developed Driver Measure Boards and heijunka (schedule) boards for each piece of automated equipment. Trained recently hired Industrial Engineers across Riverside facility.

Production support and leadership for the manufacture of Boeing 787 engine nacelle composite structures and demonstrator and flight test units for Airbus A350XWB nacelle composite structures. Responsible for developing automated processes new to the facility and supervising manufacturing personnel, with a heavy focus on the Automated Fiber Placement machine. Developed training plans for the team and worked closely with manufacturing staff to develop original ideas to reduce cost and cycle time – reduced AFP lay-up cycle time 60% - 90% across various components. Additional responsibilities included driving Continuous Improvement efforts in support of Lean Product Development, which included the development of standard work, establishing an area Driver Measure Board, and revising the shop floor layout to optimize flow and linkage to downstream processes. Assisted with temporary on-load of 787 Fan Cowl components as part of the Transfer Team, supporting initial contingency planning and design selection, development, and transition into production as the initial area Team Leader. Supported senior leadership reviews and developed relationships with the customer, while developing capacity analysis to support increased rate projections. Assisted in justification and execution of capital equipment and reviewing planned items to ensure timing supported rate changes. Developed staffing forecasts, inventory planning, presentations to senior leadership, capacity planning, training plans, level loading of production schedule, overhead reduction planning, and annual budget planning.

Support of new programs with emphasis on the Boeing 787 engine nacelle. Added responsibilities included taking on an Industrial Engineering role to further develop engineering skills and implement the best processes for the factory, as well as understanding rate increases and their impact on production and expansion. Developed capacity analysis packages and presented to the customer to reassure schedule support. Supported development of staffing projections and resource and material forecasting to ensure team was able to support schedule requirements.

Supported the manufacturing environment in the role of Manufacturing Engineer, writing detailed work instructions for the fabrication and assembly of composite structures for the Boeing 787 engine nacelle. Work done out on the shop floor to allow closer contact with technicians and better serve the shop. Involved in transition from a prototype development phase into production, thus allowing for additional time spent assisting hands-on with the fabrication and assembly processes. Received Lean Practitioner Certification and supported multiple Kaizen events to develop standard work and drive cost reduction.

Part of the manufacturing environment, training for the role of Manufacturing Engineer. Tasks included creation of work instructions for the fabrication and assembly of engine nacelles, tracking part number and design changes on components as program shifted from engine development to flight test, communicating changes, and supporting Continuous Improvement activities.
