GroAlliance is a seed corn company, my responsibilities varied depending on the season. I started with the company at the beginning of planting season, during this time my duties included warehouse management, organization of seed, seed delivery and pick up of extra corn seed after planting. I also helped at planting with fill up and clean out of planters and equipment, and analyzing planting seed depth and spacing for male and female seeds. After planting season had concluded, I conducted all population counts and data collection for my territory. Later in the growing season I managed all scouting procedures, checking for insect and weed pressure and communicating spraying needs. As the season went on, I coordinated with field inspectors to gather information on male and female corn growth rates, silk and shed counts, and oversaw tasseling crews.

I am able to utilize Michigan State University Extensions demographic to connect with fellow ag enthusiasts by updating the MSUE website, spending out monthly newsletters, editing publications and creating agricultural media propaganda.

While interning at Michigan Farm Radio network I worked along side some of the states leading radio and news personalities in order to learn the ins and outs of broadcasting. I was taught the process of creating a news article from interviewing, researchering, writing and editing, as well as deafing the news article for radio publication. I was able to interact and state legislatures and law makers such as Govenor Rick Snyder. I also covered the Ag Expo held on campus at Michigan State University.

I worked as an undergraduate assistant in the Weed Sciences department where we specialized in some of the countrys most cutting edge research in herbicide resistance, especially dealing with Palmerameranth. I maintained the greenhouse and test plot studies, and conducted data analysis.

I was also able to direct in the planning of Farm Joural Magazines Corn and Soybean College Days where we informed growers across the country of advancements in ag technologies.
