I have fifteen plus years of customer service experience in various fields. At a young age I began working at a small restaurant in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. I would answer the phones, take orders, serve food, managing the supplies in stock, etc. An attorney recognized my work ethic and potential and gave my first opportunity to work in an office environment. I was tasked with answering phones, scheduling appointments and filing documents in various courts (civil, bankruptcy, criminal). Business slowed for that attorney and he could no longer afford me to work for him so a friend helped me get hired with a family owned residential and commercial title-insurance company, Magic City Title. I prepared title contracts for the closing of properties. I started a family and needed a higher paying salary to support that new family so, I began working at Protective Life Insurance Company. There I learned a lot as a customer service representative, eventually becoming a subject matter expert after they made their largest investment ever, at that point, in contact center data analytics. I helped with implementation of work force analytics and work force management as well as the IVR for the call center. After working for that corporation and for profit companies for years I wanted to shift my efforts into the non-profit sector. Finding my calling at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, one of the largest humane societies in the southeast. Initially, I was hired on as an adoption counselor and eventually managed the adoptions and animal care staff. In all of my endeavors customer service has been the talent that came most naturally to me. I love listening to and helping people whether I am working with them, for them or assisting them as a customer. I have moved from Birmingham, Alabama to Austin, Texas in recent years and began working part time in the entertainment industry at a world renowned music venue, Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater. I began working front of house as an usher where, you guessed it, customer service! Helping guests and clients coming to the venue for concerts, tapings of the Austin City Limits television series (the longest running music series in television history) and with private events, weddings or parties. Since my start there at ACL I have ventured into working as a stage hand and also as a production and hospitality assistant.
