Providing project management consultancy services in the construction industry

Senior Project Manager within the Projects and Construction department of BTFS (subsidiary of the BT Group).I am responsible for planning, implementing and managing key projects across the BT’s vast and varied estate. I am the allocated PM responsible for BT Centre (HQ) and 123 Judd Street (Openreach HQ). Example projects include large strategy relocations of 100 plus occupants across different buildings, refurbishment of BT operational space into high end office facilities, Replacement of the BT Tower Infoband, Data centre expansion for high profile 3rd party, CAT A dilapidations on 85,000sf of office space, energy efficiency projects replacing lighting to LED.

At Rowney Sharman I worked closely with our clients to deliver a range of projects. I identified and received appropriate Project Mandates in line with agreed business strategy and needs. I was an integral member of the delivery team, working closely with the Client’s senior team to ensure delivery of the projects. I developed comprehensive business cases for change, identifying risk, benefit, cost and timescale analysis and securing funding where appropriate.I ensured every project was planned, phased and aligned with any pre-existing activity. All projects were effectively communicated through all their core phases including development, execution and implementation. I managed each project in line with the original scoping, and delivering agreed outputs on time whilst ensuring that they remain aligned to the business strategy.I managed both internal teams and external partners to deliver project obligations to time and to budget by developing relationships with all key stakeholders. I worked with the team to procure the most cost-effective and competitive solutions.

At the University, I worked as a client side Project Manager in the Projects Department delivering a variety of works projects including the procurement and management of consultants and contractors. Ranging in value from £500 to £4 million these included refurbishment to new builds; infrastructure and maintenance improvements, all required to be delivered to specification cost and time, within a safety conscious and multi-stakeholder environment. I was responsible for the project through its life cycle including pre-feasibility and lessons learnt, listening and appropriately responding to customer feedback. I liaised and supported the clients and stakeholders to build confidence in project delivery. Proactively assembled, lead and directly managed the project team to ensure consistent delivery of the project. JCT contacts used and PRINCE 2 project process followed. I provided project reporting and forecasting against the defined project parameters and critical success factors to senior management, committees, clients and stakeholders.
