Profile bio

About Heather Ramsay

I bring a fresh perspective to L & D grounded in leadership, training, coaching, and program management. I am passionate about engaging, inspiring, and empowering teams to succeed. People connect with me because of my playful yet purposeful facilitation style, understanding of diverse adult learner needs, and skill translating content into accessible and achievable parts. I have a flair for talent development and building enduring relationships. I am a systems, processes, details, research, and planning genius with a growth mindset eager to innovate, collaborate, problem solve, and achieve. My career began as Program Coordinator for the Ringling Museum of Art, where I was also teacher-trainer for our Saturdays for Educators program. Deciding to take on teaching, I was hired by Pinellas County School District. My 7 years included leading educator train-the-trainer workshops, new teacher coaching, and development of the 1st digital arts program & LMS curriculum tool. I then embarked on a PhD at Penn State while also serving as faculty for undergrad courses. At PSU I designed & facilitated LMS online as well as in-person courses. In 2015 I left PA as a PhD Candidate (ABD) to care for my father. Subsequently, I took a short-term front desk sales role at Massage Envy and was quickly promoted to Assistant Manager. I chose this position because I wanted to learn about sales, and, in fact, learned much more as sales & training leader. In 2016 I moved to Austin to become Fine Arts Coordinator of Austin ISD’s fine arts high school and was later promoted to Director. Proudly, we transformed the Academy through equity, culture/community-building, accountability, and staff training & development programs and initiatives. Most recently, I moved to the Raleigh, NC area and began my current position as Program Manager. 🌟 I was elected President, National Student Chapter, Early Career Professionals division, National Art Education Association and led 3 years of national presentations, training, and coaching as well as collectively built the division’s foundation.🌟 Our Academy team delivered data and consumer insights-driven programmatic planning, including accountability strategies & positioning/messaging, contributing to a 25% increase in our student success rate.🌟 I led the paradigm shift from traditional professional portfolios to ePortfolios at PSU, which included innovation of curriculum and facilitation methodology as well as resulted in students stating they were hired as a direct result of their course training and final portfolio.

Listed skills include Leadership, Public Speaking, Educational Assessment, Personal Development, and 16 others.
