An expansive role in a fast-growing organization, I lead a wide range of strategic technology projects related to the opening and ongoing operations of a new major contemporary art museum, playing a key role in growing the organization from a small team of 6 in a private foundation environment to a major public museum.

As part of a small management team at a pioneering nonprofit, I worked to further our organization’s mission to facilitate better, mission-focused use of technology in our partner museums and cultural heritage organizations. As the Director of IT, I oversaw an IT staff of 4 that supported a diverse group of 13 clients, including a total of approximately 450 users, 250 workstations, and over 50 servers at 11 different locations. I managed all aspects of the IT department’s operations, including budgeting, hiring, staff and contractor management, project management, policy development, and communications within and outside of the organization.

As one of the founding employees of the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, I assisted the Director in the creation and growth of the organization from the ground up. I created mission statement, website, and other communications material for the new organization. I also managed projects and communications in a wide range of areas, including website redevelopment and content management, collections management, digitization and digital asset management, training, and mobile app and game development
