When I was completing my undergraduate degree, so many of my professors stressed that education is something that happens far beyond a typical classroom environment -- and I think my professional journey is a testament to that! 2020 brought a lot of unprecedented changes to our lives (to put it mildly), and one such for myself was the opportunity to switch career paths and enter the world of legal, recreational cannabis sales. I took the plunge, and couldn't be happier that I did! As someone who has experienced first-hand the benefits of medicinal cannabinoid therapy, I'm so grateful to be able to help others enhance their own wellness through natural means in my everyday work.I treat our dispensary like I did my classroom -- an environment where team members and visitors alike can come together to learn, share, and grow in a stigma-free, non-judgemental space. Compassion, communication, and collaboration are foundational to my work approach in all fields, and I marry warmth and openness with a wealth of knowledge that seeks to enrich the lives of those around me. Nothing fuels my fire like the "a-ha!" moment when someone understands something in a way they hadn't before -- my love of that feeling was what drew me to become an educator, and I still chase that "a-ha!" moment in all that I do today!Working in such a new, rapidly developing industry has not been without its difficulties, but I've never been one to turn down a good challenge! I am always interested in connecting with other professionals working in the legal cannabis industry (medical or recreational), so don't be shy if you'd like to connect. Our dynamic industry needs dynamic people, and I can't wait to see where the future takes us from here!
