I will be responding to crises both remotely and in-person assisting social workers and law enforcement in the de-escalation and stabilization of individuals by linking them to local mental health and addiction services as required. I will also be providing follow-up intervention support and additional resources as appropriate.

This is a two-year volunteer advocacy appointment within the Autism community in which I will be helping to guide in the research, recruitment, and retention activities of SPARK.

I was responsible for providing personal care for adults with complex medical and intellectual needs. I helped transfer, monitor oxygen levels, administer medication, make meals, and clean the residential home. I also made notes about daily activities and anything concerning each of the residents in their charts.

I worked closely with the staff in the nursing department to help residents with their activities of daily living and answer their call lights addressing and meeting their needs appropriately.

I provided hygiene and nutrition to geriatric residents. In addition, I noted these activities and any changes in the resident's behavior and health in their care plans. Furthermore, I worked closely with the nursing department and my direct supervisor to improve the overall quality of life and ensure the safety and security of the residents during my shift.
