Hi there! I'm Heather, and I have a lifelong obsession with all things paper—paper cutting, paper sculpture, and paper engineering. If it can be made out of paper, I’ve probably made it.In 2020, I turned my passion for paper art into a career as a freelance illustrator and designer. Since then, I’ve worked on editorial and advertising illustrations as well as other creative projects such as a two-meter-high paper sculpture for a shop window display and paper-cut puppets for stop-motion animation. I’ve honed my skills with Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Suite, and learnt to use hardware such as the Cricut Maker to produce work more efficiently.Building my brand, Made by Heather, has given me a strong foundation in brand creation and small business management. I’ve learnt to create promotional content for social media, successfully run an online shop, and communicate effectively with clients, earning particular praise for my customer service in online reviews.In addition to my design work, I’ve spent the past 12 years as an EFL teacher, developing excellent communication and interpersonal skills. My creative approach and clear explanations have helped me retain a loyal group of students who appreciate my teaching style (and my whiteboard drawings!).Now, I am actively seeking full-time design and illustration work.
