CurrentAs an elected official I am responsible for overall policy direction, providing constituent services, and overseeing management and administration for 12 divisions, 2,000 employees, and a $1 Billion budget for county government.• Represent and advocate for 385,000 county constituents• Convene stakeholders to solve large community challenges• Worked with two simultaneous Emergency Operation Centers, Incident Command, FEMA, local leaders, and federal and state governments on COVID-19 and wildfire response and recovery• County lead and adviser on disaster recovery policy and redevelopment, including for a local community destroyed by the Holiday Farm Fire mega-fire • Respond to requests from state and federal elected officials, provide testimony to the state legislature• Extensive public speaking and facilitation of public conversations on ambitious and challenging topics• Provide strategic plan development and oversight• Coordinated initiatives, activities, policies, and processes both within the organization and with outside agencies• Develop briefing papers, county-wide policy and regulations to resolve problems and issues• Interpret and apply statutes and regulations • Passed the county’s first Affordable Housing Action Plan, first Climate Action Plan, and first Community Benefits Bidding Protocol
