As a dedicated member of the Library Systems and Technology team at CSUN, I manage and support the Unified Library Management System (Ex Libris Alma and Primo VE), ensuring optimal data display and indexing for seamless access to library resources. My role involves facilitating the import, export, and interoperability of metadata across library systems, and I guide the creative integration of these systems with the Library's website and other platforms.Collaboration is at the heart of my work, as I partner with the Library Systems Group, campus technology departments, staff, librarians, and teaching faculty to design, promote, and enhance online access to library resources and collections. I am proactive in implementing and raising awareness of new features that improve user success in discovering and utilizing library content.Beyond my technical responsibilities, I am actively involved in serving on various Library, campus, regional, and national organizations and initiatives. My role extends to liaison and collection development activities, tailored to the specific needs of the Library, as well as providing library instruction and both in-person and remote reference and research assistance in a dynamic learning environment.As a tenure-track faculty member, I am committed to achieving equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching, mentorship, scholarship, and service. My contributions include maintaining weekly office hours, participating in faculty meetings, assessing student learning, and serving the department, college, and university. I managed and administered a suite of core library systems, including Ex Libris Alma, Primo VE Discovery, OCLC ILLiad, SpringShare LibApps, and the BePress Digital Commons institutional repository. I had primary responsibility for the management of a locally hosted EZProxy server within an AWS Cloud 9 environment, ensuring secure and seamless remote authentication of digital library resources.I provided leadership in library technology project planning, from identifying and implementing emerging technologies to assessing logistical implications and proposing viable development solutions.I developed and delivered comprehensive analysis reports on system performance, spearheaded policy changes, and introduced initiatives aimed at optimizing the technology infrastructure of the library. My insights guided library administration in making informed decisions about technology and systems, including product updates, workflow enhancements, and strategic resource allocation.In addition to my administrative and advisory duties, I utilized my programming skills to create and integrate Python scripts, adding custom functionalities and optimizing procedures. I held primary responsibility for administering the Ex Libris Alma System and Primo Discovery layer, including extracting and analyzing data using Oracle Business Intelligence. I maintained and managed remote authentication for digital library resources, ensuring secure and seamless access for users.In collaboration with campus IT staff, I integrated library systems with campus-wide systems, enhancing authentication and security functionality. I also ensured consistent branding across external vendor platform interfaces, performing link checks to improve the user experience when accessing electronic resources through OneSearch and subscription databases. My efforts in this area led to increased collection visibility and marketing on the Library’s homepage.I oversaw the entire lifecycle of electronic resources—books, journals, databases, and multimedia—from e-trial management and acquisition to license management, troubleshooting, maintenance, renewal, and cancellation. My role was crucial in resolving access issues and ensuring the smooth operation of electronic resources.In addition to my technical responsibilities, I performed reference duties, supporting faculty and student research needs. I provided detailed statistical data and metrics, including usage and cost analysis, to inform collection analysis and development decisions, helping the Library to strategically manage its resources.Collaborating with university faculty, I developed and delivered customized presentations tailored to curriculum and research standards, enhancing information delivery and promoting student engagement. My work ensured that library resources were effectively integrated into academic programs, supporting both teaching and learning outcomes.

As the Middle School Librarian for the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, I played a pivotal role in leading the library’s complete digital transition, including the successful implementation of the 1:1 Chromebook Initiative. This initiative involved the processing and management of 800 devices, ensuring that every student had access to the digital tools necessary for their education.In addition to overseeing this significant technology integration, I managed the daily operations of the school library, curating a diverse collection of physical and digital resources to support the educational and recreational needs of students and faculty. I provided personalized reading recommendations, fostered a love of reading among students, and organized literacy programs and events that promoted a vibrant reading culture within the school.I collaborated closely with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum, developing and delivering instructional sessions that enhanced students’ research skills, digital literacy, and information literacy. I also played a key role in managing the library’s budget, acquiring new materials, and maintaining an organized and welcoming environment for all library users.My responsibilities extended to managing the library’s digital resources, including eBooks and databases, and providing technical support for students and staff using digital tools and platforms. At the Peachtree Branch, I utilized my extensive knowledge of core library values and current trends in the information industry to enhance library services and community outreach. I focused on integrating emerging communication technologies to better serve our diverse user base, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all patrons.I developed and implemented programs tailored to different demographic groups, promoting digital literacy and lifelong learning. My role also involved curating a diverse collection and forming community partnerships to extend the library’s reach. As a Student Reference Clerk, I provided front-line support in the university library, assisting students and faculty with research inquiries and accessing library resources. I developed strong customer service skills while guiding users in locating materials, navigating databases, and utilizing various research tools.I also supported library staff with daily operations, including shelving, cataloging, and maintaining the reference collection. My role involved troubleshooting basic technology issues and ensuring that library resources were accessible and user-friendly. This experience deepened my understanding of library services and laid the foundation for my career in librarianship.
