I created an internal tool that allows anyone to create high-fidelity, interactive prototypes with real ReactJS components from the TurboTax Design System. While previously the design technology team was responsible for the entire end-to-end TurboTax prototype each year, we enabled our designers to contribute by creating a drag-and-drop, no-code interface. I created high-fidelity prototypes using C#, XAML, and Adobe Illustrator to create assets that can be utilized in code, ensuring final visuals are scalable and pixel-perfect.I worked closely with interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, and software developers to ensure that designs for mobile apps were technically feasible and implemented as intended.I also assisted with wireframes, design reviews, usability testing, and software development.My primary project was the Lumia 2520 and its associated Power Keyboard accessory.

I conducted user research, designed and developed prototypes, and created robust documentation for the Global Hawk UAV ground station.• Design and develop 7+ iterations of interactive prototypes using Adobe Flex, and evaluatethrough usability workshops held with end users and the customer.• Collaborate with software, requirements, and hardware teams by providing human factorsand ergonomics input during early phases of development.• Create a user interface design document that describes every detail of the user interfaceand acts as a pixel-level functional specification for the software team, a reference documentfor the test team, and a requirements traceability matrix for the system engineering team.• Design user interfaces for web-based applications using rapid prototyping for user feedback,and document the resulting user interface in user interface design documents.• Develop reusable software user interface components and style guides.• Participate in peer reviews, daily scrum meetings, and provide traceability from requirementsto user interface components.

TaskTracer is desktop organizational software developed at Oregon State. When you are working on a task, TaskTracer keeps track of the documents, emails, and websites that you use. This helps you organize your tasks and keep all of your resources handy when you need them again.As part of TaskTracer’s usability team, I help design and conduct user studies to evaluate the software. Our current study focuses on task predictions and relationships between documents. Participants use the software to organize their work for three weeks. We use pre- and post-study questionnaires and two post-study interviews to gather data. We also analyze the databases (with any sensitive data removed).

I work with a variety of companies to create logos, graphics, promotional materials, and websites. I primarily use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash. I have over 5 years of experience with web design, and most of the websites I create involve PHP, MySQL, and AJAX. I also have experience using the API’s for Google Maps, Yahoo! Events, and Facebook.

Conducted a usability study for two Compatibility Validation (CV) software modules and presented a report of recommendations. Used observation, focus groups, prototyping, and surveys to elicit user feedback. These recommendations improve efficiency and the overall user experience for CV technicians, planners, and test developers. I also developed custom controls for the new CV database software using C# and .NET 2.0.

Created a web application which allows department managers to create customized reports of Compatibility Validation’s testing status and results. Used C#, JavaScript and XML (AJAX), HTML, and ASP.NET. I finished the project ahead of schedule, so I created a how-to demo using Flash.

Designed a new web-based database for the Quality Control department to track instrument readings and error reporting for several types of product tests. Created detailed software documentation and test cases.
