A main focus is to improve student success by supporting teacher development and classroom efficacy. I primarily use data to develop a picture about classroom performance, and with consistent interaction with the classroom educator we make a plan that includes monitoring assessments, data tracking and performance evaluations to drive improvement. I coordinate with administration and our district leaders to identify areas of need and next steps for our school. I am the liaison between those meetings and the execution of the next steps with teachers. Next steps might looks like a coaching cycle with me where a teacher and I co-teach and work on a specific element. Then we meet and reflect on the lesson and the experience. Providing professional development opportunities for the teachers is also part of my role as reading coach. I send out surveys and look for trends and give professional developments on the items that are a high need at our site. Teachers attend the sessions as needed and make progress towards improving in that particular practice. I follow up with them on a predetermined timeline.
