Heather Hedrick is a learning & development and performance management expert. She is the Human Resources Director for The Seagate Resort in Delray Beach, Florida. She was previously the Corporate Director of Training for Proper Hospitality, leading the learning framework for the Proper Hotels; Hotel June in LA and Malibu; as well as The Collective: Avalon Hotels & Bungalows, Ingleside Inn, and Venice V Hotel. Before joining the corporate team of Proper Hospitality, Heather served as Director of Financial Analysis and Compliance for Nobu's Corporate Global Team. Heather's has 12 years' experience in learning/training, performance management, business expansion, HR, & risk management. Heather has had hands-on experience opening seven hotels and more than 20 restaurants of varying service types from fast service to fine-dining. She is skilled in analysis of full hotel and restaurant budgets, seeking maximum flow through while never compromising service. Heather has an aptitude for compliance, overseeing Human Resources and Risk Management, in addition to full budgets worldwide for Nobu Hotels. Before working on at the corporate level, Heather was the learning and development manager at the renowned Forbes Five-Star Mandarin Oriental in New York City. Previously, Heather was the training manager at the acclaimed 10,000 acre Kiawah Island Golf Resort which includes the Forbes Five-Star Sanctuary Hotel & The Ocean Course, site of the 2012 & 2021 PGA Championships. Heather considers quality a habit. She excels at creating and evaluating processes to ensure that quality is consistently measured--through a cycle of professional development & performance management. These are skills transferrable to all industries; however, other industries benefit from the expertise that comes from Heather's experience in luxury hotels & restaurants. Heather has her master’s degree in Communication from the College of Charleston, where she focused her study on public speaking pedagogy. The greatest joy for Heather comes from her ability to create a paradigm change in employees, continuously seeking to teach & helping others to grow; and, most importantly, to learn.
