I learned the value of developing solid relationships early in my career. Long ago, while in the retail industry, my forte was my book of business and getting to know my customers. Knowing more about our clients enabled me to become proficient with upselling. Transitioning to the restaurant industry I began hostessing and advanced into server, bartending, and training positions.The restaurant industry gave me the opportunity to learn management strategies and I discovered that I truly enjoyed the aspects of working with my teams to ensure optimal service to our customers. The chance to add to my skillset with events, promotion, and media appeared and I took advantage to work within that field for a few years. My introduction to TooJay’s Management came almost by accident through a mutual friend who was aware of an opportunity and I was able to start as an Executive Assistant. My role included opportunities to expand my skill set with risk management as well as knowledge of liquor and restaurant licensing processes.As Director of Insurance and Risk Management, my accountabilities include:• Manage insurance and Worker’s Compensation, general liability, and auto claims • Created and implemented a company-wide Safety Program to educate and mentor team members• Created and implemented a Driver’s Safety Policy including personal and fleet vehicles of the company used for the delivery of orders.• Launched distinct campaigns that amplified reduced worker compensation claims through strategic management. • Through efficient management of claims there has been reduction in claims and costs of policy renewal rates.The human factor of the work I do is the ‘why’ as to the longevity of my career with the company.
