Responsible for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals who are interested in engaging with Boston College and making gifts to priorities that are important to them. Secured commitments of 50 major gifts ranging in size from $25,000 to $2 Million. Manage a prospect portfolio of approximately 200, soliciting and acquiring multi-year gifts as well as leadership annual fund donations from these prospects. Complete approximately 8-10 face-to-face meetings per month. Arrange out-of-state prospect visits and determine most effective team including myself, faculty, as well as the Head of School. Utilize the school’s prospect management system to track individual prospect contact and actions as well as specific follow up tasks. Ensure that donors are appropriately thanked and stewarded. Build relationships with faculty to better represent the school’s mission. Develop fundraising strategies and prepare written and oral presentations and proposals for prospects and faculty members.

Increased alumni engagement and giving, built relationships with prospects, cultivated gifts, and stewarded donors. Created and executed strategies to achieve annual financial targets and meet annual total giving goals of total giving, including major gifts and annual fund gifts. Cultivated 250 alumni annual fund donors while supervising 11 committees of the Alumni Council. Responsible for 10+ fundraising and cultivation events per year, including homecoming, reunions, a golf tournament, a wine-tasting, and regional fundraisers across the country. In one year alone, increased unrestricted annual giving by 14%, including an increase in alumni participation from 25% to 28%. Acted as a strategist, consultant and solicitor in order to increase alumni giving to the 2019 percentage, which is 34%.

Managed the startup and growth of a program in collaboration with foundations and independent schools. Wrote the curriculum which empowered more than 600 youth to work together to analyze and write nonprofit budgets, present, and choose the most deserving charities in their communities. Coordinated and led the distribution of $500,000 that the youth, after careful research and consideration, donated to the most effective and well managed local food pantries, shelters, social service agencies, environmental organizations and youth programs.

Although many nonprofits need help from time to time, they often don't have the funding to hire another full-time staff member. In her role as Managing Partner with MNSS, Heather Jack provided Massachusetts nonprofits with practical, hands on, professional support, such as fundraising, accounting and technology services, to help nonprofit agencies better achieve their missions. She also wrote marketing plans, communications plans, and development plans for some of the most well-respected Boston area nonprofit organizations.

Connected family volunteers with agencies who needed assistance. Founded a nonprofit and was responsible for all operations of the business, including board recruitment, development, marketing PR, and volunteer retention. Expanded the organization into 40 states, offering 30,000 volunteer opportunities to 20,000 families looking for volunteer opportunities.

Responsible for the distribution of grants of $1 million per year to nonprofit organizations. Acted as a liaison to the board, distribution committees, and development committees. Designed a strategy that facilitated a 50% increase in assets from 2006 to 2008.
