I work with an amazing team of regional coordinators who work to strengthen our District Advisory Councils and grow the association's membership base. We assist in implementing programs and services that expand opportunities and deliver results for Iowa's soybean growers and their customers. It's all about helping our farmers develop leadership skills that support their farms, association, communities and their industry.

I help lead the association’s communication efforts to the group’s members, media and public. I serve as the primary contact for media requests and write news releases and stories for the association’s newsletters and publications to provide up-to-date news about ISA and soybean production. I also work with the association’s social media efforts, including ISA’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/IowaSoybeans) and Twitter feed (@IASoybeans).

After working for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation's publications team for more than a decade, I took advantage of the opportunity to join the public relations team as a senior communications specialist. In this role, I assist in fielding media calls and developing media relations to help our farmers and staff tell the story of Iowa agriculture. In addition, I offer training programs for our organization's Speaker Corps group and support other leadership programs. We also offer training, from how to pitch a story to a reporter to how to share a tweet, to all Farm Bureau counties and customize our messages to meet our members' needs. It's an exciting job that allows me to continue writing and promoting our state's farmers and the work they do to raise food, fuel and fiber. As a reporter for the Iowa Farm Bureau Spokesman, a weekly newspaper distributed to Farm Bureau members, I covered topics including Iowa livestock, commodities, markets and all-things Iowa-ag. I carried a pair of (pink!) work boots in my car at all times...always ready to walk through a hog house or feedlot.
