Spanning a decade I was Chair, Co-Chair and Vice Chair raising funds for the fun stuff that dwindling school budgets often can no longer provide - including subsiding school trips for every year, the science shows, balance bikes, cameras, Cinema trips, alongside ingredients, utensils and aprons for cooking classes.I'm especially proud that even though it took a few years, we purchased new interactive whiteboards for every teaching space and classroom - a huge achievement!We held regular meetings and annual AGM's, liaised with the Head Teacher and teaching staff to ensure they signed off on dates and/or were involved in fundraising projects/events where appropriate.I planned and ran several events a year, including the Summer and Christmas Fairs, Easter and Halloween Art Competitions, arranged Panto trips into school - and even Santa to come along :-D regularly, and very successfully, made donation requests from supermarkets, and national companies for school projects, facility improvements and smaller competition prizes.Our small but active team consistently raised approx £6k p/a, which is amazing for a single class intake Primary school with less than 200 on role.I've had so many joyous moments - like when they'd bring in their arty creations for competitions, I'd be there to compliment them and high five them - they'd absolutely beam with pride! I feel like I've seen so many children grow up - and it's been an absolute privilege. Kids continue to recognise me long after they've moved up to High School - their faces transform from tall teenager to little six year olds with happy eyes and big smiles in a heart beat - and that's priceless.If you've read this far - great - and if you've a school age child in your family please do consider asking their PTA if they could use a hand... :-)

I ran the studio which included allocating myself and other photographers to shoots, forging excellent client relationships, editing shots, looking after clients, office admin, managing the bookings and ensuring images were delivered in good time.

Working for the Global Marketing VP, I was heavily involved in briefing and planning B2B advertising campaigns, including photography, copy and space booking. Regularly liaised with the offices in Abu Dhabi, Texas, Australia, Nigeria, Norway and Italy, sharing best practice, picking up local news and co-ordinating marketing activities - ensuring consistency for global clients and high quality, on brand output every time.One of my responsibilities was logging, tracking, compiling and dispatching bids and tenders for new projects. I quickly initiated a flexible response framework to enable me to easily submit the most used information - as every client needed our response to be set out in their preferred way. I ensured each tailored response area was compiled by the most appropriate person from across our multinational offices, and in good time, incorporating it into the response in the specifically designated way. As per the instructions, I've done all kinds of things to comply with the submission requests including selecting the correct outer envelope colour, I've sealed bids with red wax and a metal company seal (it's weirdly more difficult than you might think - it sets very quickly!), and even flown out to various locations to hand deliver them.I pick up technical info quickly, and enjoyed extolling the virtues of the proprietary techniques we offered to Oil and Gas Industry clients face to face at conferences in Amsterdam and the UK, I knew enough to get them interested and then also knew who to pass them onto for a more in-depth chat.In my first year, I was awarded the inaugural "Employee of the Year". As a non Geo in a company full of Geophysicists - it's an achievement I'm very proud of - in fact I'm pretty sure that was the only time it was awarded - so technically - I may still hold that title...
